Brandon League Optimistic About Himself

Written by Squirrely Shuckheimer on March 18, 2009 – 12:07 pm -

Word from this Mike Rutsey piece is that Brandon League is looking and feeling good this spring.  The article gives little in the way of League’s actual performance this spring, but both League and pitching coach Brad Arnsberg feel this is the best he has looked since ‘06.  He’s going to need to be if the Jays expect to take pressure off of the back-end of their rotation.

Take it for what it’s worth (I hope he’s dominant and eventually closing).

I hope so too. The Jays could use some young blood in their bull pen.

B.J. Ryan may be their most tradeable commodity if he pitches well. I’m with you as far as youth in the pen, it is a fairly young pen but League has “closer stuff” and may work out in that role.
