Halladay Has Career Night, Wells Does Nothing
Written by SL on June 2, 2009 – 11:31 pm -
Um, I’m going to be honest and say I had planned on skipping tonight’s Jays’ game altogether in favour of the Stanley Cup Finals. Luckily, for me, Halladay’s dominance of the Angels’ lineup was apparent from the first pitch. This is what multiple computers and a TV are for, nights like this.
Halladay did his best A.J. Burnett impression (although gave up only one walk instead of like seven) by striking out a career high 14 batters on the evening, including the side in the ninth. Complete game, a few hits surrendered, earned runs and all, fuck it… Halladay is the best there is. First to nine wins. Jays 6 Angels 4
Has anyone seen Vernon Wells’ power or general ability lately? No? I didn’t think so.

This Just Happened: Blue Jays 5 Yankees 1
Written by SL on May 13, 2009 – 7:38 am -Roy Halladay is so good he makes me wanna puke.
Burnett wasn’t bad, but he wasn’t great either.
I’ve seen a few good live sporting events over the years, but that was the most electric audience that I can say I was a part of. Thank you Blue Jays’ fans for:
- Booing Burnett
- Giving it to A-Roid, and to the gentleman who tossed a foul-ball back at him
- And most importantly: coming out and supporting the home team
From A-Roid’s purple lip to Mark Teixeira’s shitty average, the Yankees suck.

Johnny Mac Lines One Off Of Burnout
Written by SL on March 20, 2009 – 8:21 am -Slick fielding, light-hitting John MacDonald rarely lines anything other than a throw from shortstop. Johnny Mac always seems to be left on the outside looking in when the season starts. He’s been named the team’s shortstop before, only to concede the title to guys like Royce Clayton, and Marco Scutaro (the latter I can live with). Maybe he was trying to send a message to his teammates, telling them to ‘toughen-up’, when he knocked a single off of former Jay A.J. Burnett’s arm in Thursday night’s 7-4 loss to the Skankees.
Fortunately, or not, Burnout was O.K., and joked about being lucky that it was only Johnny Mac. A.J. showed a toughness in the first year of his contract with New York that he had failed to in his first two seasons as a Blue Jay. Burnout would have certainly taken the opportunity to spend a couple weeks on the DL had this been the pre-Halladay A.J. It’s going to be tough to watch him pitch in pinstripes.

A.J. Burnett In His Yankee Duds
Written by SL on March 13, 2009 – 2:42 pm -It should be interesting to watch A.J. Burnout pitch at the Rogers Centre this season, and I don’t imagine he’ll get away with tossing his mitt into the Yankees’ dugout quite like he did in Toronto. It’s okay to be a little bit malicious with regards to your hopes for A.J.’s first season a Yankee.
