Wind & Tallet’s Porn-Duster Shut Down Chi-City

The Pern-stache got it done, the Blue Jays curb-stomped the White Sox 14-0!  Who doesn’t believe in this team?  Don’t knock Cito, Michael Barrett doesn’t, and that’s saying something ’cause he loves hammerin’ people.

I’m being serious now, but Tallet was… dominant?  I’ll settle for effective, and maybe an assist to the wild winds blowing through the “Cell” on the South Side.  Vernon Wells is leading this team in stolen bases with three, which is encouraging because he stopped running several seasons ago.  This was an absolute clobbering, that’s the extent of analysis from here.

Jose Bautista homered for the first time this season, finally delivering on that power potential we saw in EA Sports’ MVP Baseball 2005modded of course.

Brian Burres is chucking tomorrow, that should be a hoot.  He’s facing Ferris Buehrle and his assortment of “junk”.

What’s Wrong With Bo Jr.?

Written by Squirrely Shuckheimer on April 11, 2009 – 5:03 pm -

B.J. Ryan stunk today.  The line on him: 0.2 IP, 2 H, 3 ER, and 3 BB.  Ryan entered the game in the ninth with a 4-run lead on the Indians before allowing a two out base hit and then walking two and surrendering a three-run double to Mark DeRosa to make it 5-4 for the Jays.

The last time we saw B.J. Ryan struggle this much with his command was in the first weeks of 2007 when J.P. Ricciardi let us know he was experiencing trouble with his back.  It turned out that those back issues need Tommy John surgery on their elbow and the Beej missed the rest of the season.

Jason Frasor relieved Ryan and struck-out Victor Martinez to finish off Cleveland.  Halladay improved to 2-0, and Cliff Lee is now 0-2 (he lost only three times last season).  The Jays are off to vicious start, better than anyone could have expected, but Ryan’s struggles are cause for concern.
